The ingredient maker announced its investment in the company's Erlanger, KY campus (its flagship U.S. flavors facility), with a focus on innovation, growth, and addressing the demand for reformulation in the evolving food landscape. The $26M investment in Erlanger will aim to help customers meet consumer expectations by increasing the capacity, delivery, supply, and consistency of the company’s naturally derived color and flavor solutions.

HERZA
The supplier has debuted organic chocolate pieces with matcha and natural date sweetening—available in six versions, including four combinations of organic white chocolate and matcha, either plain or refined with fruit powder and spices. The chopped pieces get their flavor and color from 2% matcha powder. Lime powder gives the big arched chips an additional fruit note, the company says, with blueberry powder giving the leaves a fruity taste.

PURATOS
The bakery ingredients manufacturer announced the acquisition of Vör Foods, a producer of clean-label nut butters and nut based fillings based in Trevose, PA. The addition aims to strengthen the company’s U.S. manufacturing footprint and reinforce its commitment to sweet goods innovation. Vör’s portfolio of pistachio, hazelnut, almond, cashew, and blended nut butters and fillings complements the supplier’s existing range of nut fillings.

The flavorist has announced its seventh annual Chef’s Council, March 23-27 in Mexico City. This year’s event will explore the art and science of hot and spicy sensations from around the world, the brand says. Chef’s Council is reportedly the only global initiative of its kind, uniting the company’s flavor expertise with top culinary minds from every continent, it says. Launched over 25 years ago, it has become a hallmark of the company's culinary innovation.

IMA FOOD
The equipment company has hired Zachary Peloquin as East Coast regional sales manager. In his new role, he will lead field sales efforts throughout the region, focusing on identifying and securing business opportunities for the company’s dairy and food equipment brands. He will be responsible for developing new customer relationships while managing and expanding existing accounts within both the aseptic and non-aseptic food packaging sectors.
