DSM-FIRMENICH

The taste brand has debuted "Frosted Star Anise" as its Flavor of the Year for 2026. This flavor draws from the Pantone Color of the Year 2026: "Pantone 11-4201 Cloud Dancer," a white hue which inspired DSM-Firmenich to elevate both an ingredient and a feeling as the 2026 Flavor of the Year. Together, these two emotional indicators reflect a growing global desire for calm in an increasingly fast-paced world, the company says.

LASENOR

The bakery solutions specialist announced it has crafted muffins using 50-100% less egg. VP-100, a clean, texturizing protein from peas, was showcased in a hybrid baked treat at Fi Europe 2025. The single ingredient protein is a texturizing pea protein specifically designed for commercial bakery applications, and was developed using innovator Meala FoodTech, Ltd.’s proprietary texturization technology and further optimized for aerated batter systems.

PPM TECHNOLOGIES

The Duravant company has introduced the third generation of its all-in-one seasoning system. The compact solution combines liquid and dry seasoning in a single plug-and-play unit for continuously coating snacks, nuts, cereals, and more. The new model has enhanced drum magnets, an optional stainless-steel drum, and additional advancements that reportedly support operator safety, expand application flexibility, and increase production capacity.

FORTIFI

The food processing company announced that it has completed its acquisition of Provisur Technologies, a provider of further processing solutions to the protein industry. The acquisition reinforces the company’s commitment to offer solutions that integrate optimal automation, robotics, and software capabilities, it says, and extends its downstream processing capabilities with advanced solutions to grind, form, slice, and tumble protein.

FORTRESS TECHNOLOGY

Now celebrating its 30th anniversary, the company reportedly designed its metal detection systems to be modular, upgradable, and durable. According to Fortress, over the past three decades, these software upgrades and enhancements have enabled customers to comply with evolving food safety regulations and adapt to changing factory layouts. Some of the company’s earliest analogue metal detectors continue to operate today, but with efficient digital features.

METTLER TOLEDO

The supplier has introduced its new X3 Series of bulk flow x-ray inspection systems, which aims to deliver physical contamination detection, precision waste reduction, and simplified operation, it says. Consisting of the X13 and X53 models, the design of the X3 Series for bulk inspection is developed with common parts of the X2 family. The X3 Series has been developed specifically for unpackaged, loose-flow, bulk products on conveyors.
