Tate & Lyle PLC
Tate & Lyle PLC has announced that it has delivered on its commitment to eliminate the use of coal-based energy in all its operations across the world. This commitment, targeted for delivery by 2025, has been met four years ahead of schedule. This marks the completion of a multi-year capital investment program totaling more than US$150 million to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and increase efficiency in Tate & Lyle’s plants. This has been achieved primarily by replacing coal systems with natural gas-fired combined heat and power systems at four corn wet mills in the US in Loudon, TN; Decatur, IL; and both plants in Lafayette, IN.

Palsgaard
The wastewater treatment facility Hedensted Spildevand and the ingredient company Palsgaard have joined forces to develop new technology, which enables a circular treatment of wastewater. This will maintain CO2-neutrality in Palsgaard’s Danish production as it increases towards 2030. As a result of the close public-private partnership between food ingredient/plant-based polymer additives company Palsgaard in Juelsminde and Hedensted Spildevand, the local wastewater treatment plant, the construction of Palsgaard’s new biogas facility began October 26, 2021. The facility, Palsgaard Bio Energy A/S, is based on the development of new technology in order to produce biogas from the treatment of wastewater from Palsgaard’s production, which will then be used for heating.

Reschke brings with him a strong background in sales and engineering, which includes over 14 years of sales experience with three different major packaging equipment companies. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia. In line with his education, Reschke’s career is based on an insider approach to equipment sales.

Corbion has announced the promotion of Lonneke van Dijk to senior director, global preservation business, within the company’s Sustainable Food Solutions (SFS) business unit. In her new role, van Dijk will retain leadership of the Competitive Intelligence and Strategic Projects team, while expanding her responsibilities to include preservation product management. Most recently, van Dijk served as senior director, strategic projects, where she was responsible for leading the business unit’s strategic innovation program focused on natural preservation as well as Corbion’s extensive suite of scientific models and tools.

Ingredion Inc. has announced the appointment of two executives to its leadership team. Tanya Jaeger de Foras has been named senior vice president, chief legal officer, corporate secretary, and chief compliance officer. In this position, de Foras will be responsible for the oversight of the Company’s global legal, corporate governance, compliance, and government relations functions. Nancy Wolfe has been named senior vice president and chief human resources officer, effective January 24, 2022. Presto Products recently held a plant expansion groundbreaking ceremony in late September 2021 at its Waupaca, Wisconsin plant location. The Waupaca expansion includes increasing the size of the state-of-the-art manufacturing plant for room to grow in the future and to add rail access due to increased production volumes. The plant expansion is on track to be completed in July 2022.

Kemin Industries
Kemin Industries broke ground on November 12, 2021 on a new manufacturing site in Verona, MO, to produce clean-label ingredients that are used in a variety of applications for the food technologies sector. The new facility, scheduled to open in March 2023, will be a state-of-the-art production plant for Kemin Food Technologies – Americas to manufacture its Proteus portfolio of patented, clean-label protein ingredients for meat, poultry, and protein-based applications. Kemin acquired Proteus Industries in April 2021, adding to Kemin’s innovative portfolio for sustainable, yield-enhancing technology to further expand its global Food Technologies business.
