AMF Bakery Systems

AMF Bakery Systems has announced a series of leadership and organizational changes aimed at accelerating the company’s strategic growth, enhancing innovation, and strengthening operational execution across global markets, it says. In a realignment of senior leadership, Ken Newsome will return to his former role as chairman and CEO of AMF. Jason Ward, who has served as CEO since 2021, will support a transition period before departing the company at the end of the year.

EndFlex

Paxiom Group's EndFlex brand has introduced its latest innovation in tray forming automation: the PopLok XL-TSF, an automatic display tray former engineered for large-format applications. Designed to form club store-ready retail display trays, the PopLok XL-TSF features a heavy-duty welded steel frame, a powered elevator for feeding oversized tray blanks, and an integrated top sheet feeder, allowing users to apply a protective or decorative top sheet as trays are formed. Utilizing EndFlex’s fold-and-tuck forming assembly, the system can pick and form one blank at a time into trays ready for palletization or direct display.

Wixon

Wixon debuted its latest flavor innovations at the IFT FIRST annual expo in Chicago. The globally inspired guava and tamarind flavor systems aim to offer product developers bold, exotic taste profiles with a familiar sweet and tart appeal. Each of the flavors can be used in either featured or supporting roles in both sweet and savory food and beverage applications, the company notes.

Campbell Wrapper

Engineered, manufactured, built, and tested at its newly renovated facility in De Pere, WI, Campbell Wrapper will showcase its Revolution Horizontal Flow Wrapper at PACK EXPO this year. Along with supporting sustainable packaging initiatives, Campbell Wrapper offers compatibility with Amcor’s AmFiber Performance Paper—a high-barrier paper solution designed for curbside recycling with over 80% paper content recoverable during the recycling process.

DSM-Firmenich

Ingredients supplier DSM-Firmenich has launched ModulaSENSE maskers, designed to work with its Vertis CanolaPRO in formulation of protein bars and other products. According to the company, the maskers target bitterness, astringency, and licorice-like notes at a molecular level for snack bars and other items made with Vertis CanolaPRO protein isolate. Vertis CanolaPRO maskers are designed to enable manufacturers in formulation of higher-protein, better-tasting items.

Duravant

Duravant's Food Sorting and Handling Group has announced the appointment of Dean Ekkaia as director of product management for optical sorting solutions. In this role, Ekkaia will manage global activities that support development and sales of advanced sorting technologies that help food processors and packers optimize product quality, increase yield, and maximize production efficiencies. Ekkaia brings more than 15 years of experience in product management and leadership for automation and food processing equipment. 

ADM

ADM has unveiled its latest proprietary research examining protein consumption and innovation, with a specific look at consumer motivations and novel sources spurring new protein product development. With nutrition in focus, consumers seek greater daily protein intake, all while demanding delicious tastes and textures, ADM says. This comes during an era of infinite choices, where consumers—particularly those within younger generations—are more open to protein variety than ever before.

Tate & Lyle

Tate & Lyle has announced the appointment of Kim Faulkner as chief supply chain officer and Melissa Law as chief commercial and transformation officer. Both appointments are effective as of August 25. Faulkner joins Tate & Lyle from Colgate-Palmolive, where she worked for over 25 years in a number of senior roles across its global supply chain, and she will join Tate & Lyle’s executive committee. Law, who currently serves as chief supply chain officer and has worked for Tate & Lyle since 2017, will take on the role of chief commercial and transformation officer.
